exoC gene from Azospirillum brasilense
exoC is a phosphomannomutase, an isomerase that transfers phosphate groups within a molecule. It is an enzyme that performs the reversible conversion of α-D-mannose-1-phosphate to D-mannose-6-phosphate. It is also involved in the carbon metabolism of organisms and binds to magnesium to perform its activities.
